Thanks for all your sweet comments about my drop cloth curtains! I’m with a lot of you – after living with them for a week now, I think I would have preferred fuller curtains. Perhaps someday I’ll break out the sewing machine and add to the curtains, but they work for now…because they’re DONE!
When looking at my new curtains, you may have missed something new on my sofa: pillows! I finalllllllllly took some fabric to a local seamstress (Fabs’n'More on Washington St. for you Vicksburg locals – VERY reasonable at only $18/covering + insert if you bring your own fabric) to get pillows made. I would have sewn them myself, but let’s be honest, it would still be several more months if I took on that project!
For a year (or is it two now?!) I’ve had a yard of my fabric obsession, Robert Allen’s Eleria in Biscotti, just waiting for the perfect place to use it.
I had the seamstress make two 18″ pillows, using a turquoise fabric for the piping to really make the birds in the fabric pop. I LOVE how they turned out!
I made sure that the seamstress didn’t center the birds on the pillows – I love the birds but didn’t need them to be the focus since there are so many other pretty images on the fabric, especially the chartreuse vines and yellow flowers.
I already had the yellow greek key embroidered pillows from a Home Goods visit a year or two ago, but had the seamstress also whip up the green pillows, a solid twill that balances the colors well (IMO).
The new pillows are the perfect finishing touch on our living room! One room totally done!
