Luckett’s is the BEST. It’s an hour drive for me (yet somehow still “metro DC”) and wish it was closer too!

We won’t be building an actually fireplace – just a fun architectural feature for the room in lieu of a TV console and a place to hang stockings. I may have to build it out a bit to fill it with books, since it’s only about 3″ deep… I need to get this project started, I’m dying!

I would have picked #3 also. I bought a mantle and it is the headboard in my guestroom. Great for having reading lights on and just a cool architectural feature for the room.

OMG. Yes, #3 was the perfect pick! Sure the columns on #4 were great, however, I do love the detail at the top of mantel #3 the most! I was only at your place once for Anna and Leah’s shower, but the other two mantles would probably have been overwhelming.

I cannot wait to see the finished product! And, I would alternate the ‘stuff’ in the fireplace according to season (books spring/summer, logs or screen winter/fall), so it’s constantly fresh and you can use all your ideas!! Drat, now I want a mantle…

You lucky girl for living so close. When I visited, I wanted to bring a dresser home with me but there is no way it would fit and it was just too far to arrange a mover.

Love the mantle…Im with you on the price tag.

Its going to look amazing when you are done with it.

But how are you putting anything inside the fireplace if you don’t have one already? Are you building the entire wall out?
