My husband and I honeymooned in St. Lucia at the loveliest resort, Stonefield Estates Villas, that served – hands down – the best breakfast sandwich ever. I am a major foodie, so the explosion of flavors in my mouth made me HAPPY! Here’s a pic from our honeymoon:
The make up of the sandwich is as follows:
- Fresh French baguette, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside
- Thick slices of bacon, cooked stove top (the kind of bacon from the deli counter)
- Scrambled eggs
- Yellow mustard, smeared on one side of the baguette
- Crisp lettuce
- Cucumber slices
- Sweet Roma tomato slices
- Fresh, shredded Gruyeres cheese
Last weekend, we had a lazy sleep-in morning and decided to recreate our favorite honeymoon breakfast (sans lettuce and cucumbers, but with our homegrown tomatoes!) – num num! How did we do?!
