I have much to catch up on in blogger world… But in the meantime I will share a piece of a fun project I did with my college roommates this past weekend: we made the Spool Sewing bird mobile for a nursery that I saw posted on design*sponge back in July!

We used a variety of fun pink and yellow quilting fabrics to go with the rest of the decor of the room, and to add a pop of color in an otherwise very pale and demure nursery. We lightly spray painted the sticks we found using a lacquered white so a little of the branch color still “peeked” through. The effect was “nature but still little girl nursery”. We hung the mobile from the ceiling using a ceiling hook and some pink grosgrain ribbon.

I was wondering how you got the birds to balance. I am making a bird mobile but having a hard time balancing the birds. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
